Marketing

What is marketing?
Marketing is the informing of customers regarding a specific product,
promotion or service. Marketing aims to educate consumers of a solution
to a problem or a need that they can satisfy usually by purchasing
a product or service.
A commonly used framework is the four P's people, place, promotion and product this is sometimes referred to as the marketing mix. Include all of these P's in your marketing material and you will have covered the essentials to create a good marketing message.
Marketing is very important if your customers do not know that your product is available, how are they going to take action and purchase it? Marketing is every chance your company has to inform customers of a solution to their needs. Face to face, brochure, flyers, leaflets, TV & radio adverts, online website and customers comments.
Another main point of marketing is the fact that existing customers
can bring value if marketed to correctly. A lot of companies will
stop marketing to customers that have purchased as they believe the
focus of marketing to be on gaining more customers but if you can
market to existing customers you will notice the following. If the
product served their need before now, then they will buy from you
again and become brand loyal.
The only time when marketing will not be suitable is if the product
or service is inferior if it is not the solution to the problem you
will not be solving a problem and consumers will recognise this and
not purchase again or initially if they have heard from existing customers
not purchase at all.
This negative type of viral marketing is now more common as the use of forums, blogs and chat rooms has become more prominent. To solve this problem the marketer needs to know a good from a bad product marketing does not aim to push something onto somebody regardless of quality or capabilities it aims to inform customers of a quality solution if your product is not up to the standards then your marketing time will be a wasted investment.
